If you love a good steak, you'll know Pepperjack wines - but they're perfect for any favourite meal. A rich showcase of the Barossa, these wines are crafted by a dynamic and imaginative team with respect for traditional techniques.

Consistently Australia’s favourite red wine

Pepperjack first poured into the Australian wine scene in 1998 with a 1996 Barossa Shiraz. Since this release, Pepperjack Shiraz has consistently received the honour of being Australia’s Number 1 red wine by value*. While Barossa will always be Pepperjack’s heart and home, this much-loved wine brand has grown to craft wines from other world-class South Australian regions and has expanded varietally as well.

Wines heaven-sent for the BBQ

If there was one varietal that Australians would try to claim as their own, it would be Shiraz. And if there was one winery that could claim this grape as its own, it would surely be Pepperjack. This love affair has titillated Australian palates since 1998 and continues to delve deeper today. The Pepperjack Graded collection was born to provide the ultimate steak partner with each Shiraz crafted distinctly for particular steak cuts, while the use of other varietals brings more perfect pairings to your friendly picnic table.

Meet the Maker

Born and bred in the Barossa Valley, Richard Mattner grew up at Light Pass, a small hamlet only a valley away from Saltram. From picking grapes at his grandfather’s vineyard, to working as a cellar hand, to wine studies at Charles Sturt University, Richard’s path to winemaking was predestined and he has clearly had the Barossa pumping through his veins all of his life. He secured the role as winemaker for Pepperjack in 2007 and has been a happy camper ever since. He’ll be the first to tell you that a ‘perfect day’ needs little more than relaxing with friends and a char-grilled scotch fillet, matched with a bottle of Pepperjack of course. - “Why would I need anything else?".
