A number of different wineries opt for larger format, and you’ll find excellent examples from both Penfolds and Wynns Coonawarra Estate. Wines in these large formats tend to age for a longer period of time than their 750ml equivalents, and with proper cellaring this can prove to be a very favourable undertaking. They also make a fantastic statement gift.
