Overview
A signature expression within the Penfolds fortified collection of wines, Club Reserve is a definitive aged ‘Classic’ Tawny with a minimum average blended age between five and ten years. Since 1985 Penfolds has been identifying the best parcels of Club Tawny and reserving them for additional maturation. These selected parcels are then skilfully blended to create Club Reserve, with the additional ageing adding further complexity and concentration of flavours. Rich in fruit and intensity – hallmarks of the Penfolds Tawny style – Club Reserve is crafted to be enjoyed on release, alongside the other members of the Penfolds fortified collection

The Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale, Langhorne Creek and Coonawarra are well known for their world class reds, with Adelaide Hills, Clare Valley and Eden Valley praised for their exceptional Chardonnay and Riesling.
Vintage Conditions
Each blend of Penfolds Club Reserve Classic Tawny is crafted utilising multiple vintages and varieties to ensure the maintenance of a consistent and complex wine, year after year. In an average blend, Club Reserve may utilise as many as ten individual vintages ranging from two to fifteen years of age.
The Penfolds Team
Key to the success of Penfolds has been a lineage of visionary winemakers. There have only ever been four Chief Winemakers at the helm of Penfolds – Max Schubert, Don Ditter, John Duval and Peter Gago, each a custodian of a rich winemaking tradition that goes back for more than 170 years.
Our current Penfolds winemaking team has more than 100 years between them as Penfolds winemakers. They are constantly refining and improving their work, whilst honouring the winemaking techniques of their predecessors.
