The special Cellar Reserve range offers handcrafted, limited production ‘one-off’ wines made for the wine enthusiast that revels in the quirks of a non-conforming wine. These expressive wines have been developed without the commercial restraints of a mainstream wine market, thus reflecting the full potential of Penfolds winemaking that is meaningful and different – a range that explores the parameters of what it is to be a Penfolds wine. First introduced by Peter Gago during the 1995 vintage at Magill Estate by way of Pinot Noir, the Cellar Reserve range has since become an important addition to the Penfolds portfolio.
