Seppelt Mt Ida is sourced from the extraordinary shiraz growing region of Heathcote in Central Victoria. Produced in small quantities and only in exceptional vintages, this wine is named after our dry-grown Mount Ida Vineyard planted in 1975, one of the pioneering vineyards in the region.
The 2019 Mount Ida Shiraz expresses the intense colour and flavours Heathcote shiraz is renowned for and displays the regional character derived from the famous red Cambrian souls of the area.

The nose exhibits enticing aromas of dark plums and chocolate layered with earthy spice and ferrous elements
Rocketing to fame for Shiraz borne from its long band of red volcanic soil winding up to Mount Camel, Heathcote’s naturally fertile, rust coloured Cambrian earth is over 100 million years old. The result is deeply coloured, seductive wines.
Vintage Conditions
Heathcote experienced below average winter rainfall and a warmer than average growing season. The dry grown Mt Ida block was fruit thinned accordingly to ensure balanced growth in tough conditions and this work resulted in excellent quality in the resulting wine in what had the potential to be a difficult season.
