This is a lightly oaked and deliciously balanced Chardonnay, with notes of tangy ripe citrus and toasted almond.
The nose will have you snuffling in your glass is brimming with aromas of green apples, citrus fruits with floral undertones. The palate is snout-smackingly good weighty and refreshing, with layers of ripe rock melon, toasted almond and a hint of squeezed lemon. Tangy ripe citrus up front leads to a focused, textural finish of peach and oak with delicious balance.

The nose is bursting with juicy pineapple and lemon pith, backed up by melon with notes of walnut and French oak.
For many people, Marlborough, located at the top of the South Island, IS New Zealand. After all, it was Marlborough, and its acclaimed Sauvignon Blanc, that brought New Zealand to the wine world’s attention. But although Sauvignon Blanc remains the area’s flagship, Marlborough’s diverse meso-climates and sub-regions also offer pure, intensely flavoured Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and aromatic whites.
Based in Marlborough, Spring grew up in Christchurch and studied photography and sociology at university before taking a shot at winemaking. To get there she worked her way up through hospitality, on to Lincoln University to study winemaking, into the cellar, then the wine lab before becoming a fully-fledged winemaker. Spring’s bubbly personality and creative background is reflected in Squealing Pig wines.
