Marlborough, New Zealand

For many people, Marlborough, located at the top of the North Island, IS New Zealand. After all, it was Marlborough, and its acclaimed Sauvignon Blanc, that brought New Zealand to the wine world’s attention. But although Sauvignon Blanc remains the area’s flagship, Marlborough’s diverse meso-climates and sub-regions also offer pure, intensely flavoured Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and aromatic whites.

The vintage in Marlborough was very good, with a growing season that allowed for a cool harvest at the optimal time for lip-smacking grapes good quality and ripeness of fruit across the subregions.

Spring Timlin – Winemaker

Spring Timlin – Winemaker

Based in Marlborough, Spring grew up in Christchurch and studied photography and sociology at university before taking a shot at winemaking. To get there she worked her way up through hospitality, on to Lincoln University to study winemaking, into the cellar, then the wine lab before becoming a fully-fledged winemaker. Spring’s bubbly personality and creative background is reflected in Squealing Pig wines.
