A single vineyard red wine from the Medlands Vineyard, Wolf Blass Platinum Label Shiraz showcases the power and intensity of the Barossa Valley. Predominantly sourced from the Wolf Blass Medlands Estate vineyard on the central Barossa Valley floor, celebrated for its intense, fragrant, structural Shiraz. The final blend was enhanced with a small component of fine elegant fruit from the higher altitude, cooler climate Eden Valley foothills. The fruit was harvested, crushed and fermented in small open fermenters for up to fourteen days to concentrate the middle palate and contribute structure and length. After gentle pressing the wine was matured for 22 months in new French oak barriques.
Lifted aromas of rich blueberry, blackberry and loganberry fruits, underscored with dark chocolate, warm spices and freshly ground coffee aromas.
Intense, seamless and velvety, led by concentrated fruit and perfectly balanced spicy oak results in a tremendously complex, fine tannin finish.

Just one hour’s drive from South Australia’s capital, Adelaide, lies its gourmet capital (and wine Mecca), Barossa. Its classic Mediterranean climate, and free-draining red brown soils, makes the region ideal for growing grapes. Barossa produces excellent Shiraz, Cabernet, Grenache, Mourvèdre, Riesling and Semillon.
The season was set up well with a moderate, dry spring that encouraged steady early season growth. Mild weather and minimal rainfall provided ideal vintage conditions for optimum flavour, structure and concentration in early ripening varieties.
