Sun, surf and wine; you’d be forgiven for thinking that WA’s most notable wine region was heaven on earth. Relatively new to the scene, having only been first planted in the 1970s, Margaret River’s fame has grown rapidly thanks to its propensity to produce some of the most powerful, yet elegant Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay in Australia. Often compared to Bordeaux, both in terms of climate and soil, the region is also well regarded for its Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon.
