Fruit is predominantly sourced from premium vineyards in the Lower Yarra and Valley Floor, producing rich and concentrated wines true to the robust St Hubert’s style.
Greg Jarratt has done more vintages than anyone could possibly remember. Following a Bachelor of Applied Science in Wine at Charles Sturt University, he spent the 90s working alternating summers across France and Australia.
He secured a permanent job at Coldstream Hills in 2001 and, in 2006, was appointed Head Winemaker for St Huberts. Greg is a Len Evans Tutorial scholar (no mean feat) and has judged some of the most prestigious wine shows in the country. His depth of knowledge and experience in the vineyard and winery belie his humble demeanour – and if you catch him around one of his vintage pin-ball machines, you’ll see these hands don’t just craft poetry through wine.
Though founded by Charles Hubert de Castella, this beloved Yarra Valley icon was not eponymously named in his own honour.
St Huberts was originally founded in 1862 by winemaking pioneer and Swiss immigrant Charles Hubert de Castella; a key figure that helped position the Yarra Valley as a premium wine region.
Less than an hour’s drive from Melbourne’s CBD, the Yarra Valley is an expansive landscape of rolling hills dotted with cool-climate vineyards.
