At once, showing lovely nutty, creamy complexity in unison with white stone fruits ( peach ) and poached pear. Closer scrutiny shows lovely characters of cashew nut, soft almond nougat and crème caramel all arising from careful and precise yeast lees stirring (batonnage ), finishing with beautifully integrated lightly toasted French oak.
White stone fruits ( peach flesh ) ensue amid subtle sweet Gala apple. Very flavoursome, soft and generous with layers of creamy texture. Rich and succulent with an enchanting note of Italian custard filled pastry. A delightful full flavoured wine with a supporting fine and soft, mineral acidity adding to the long finish.
The Apple Isle is aptly nicknamed for its fresh and pure produce – its seafood and sparkling are national treasures. Some of the best intensely flavoured and aromatic Chardonnay, Riesling and Pinot Noir around also thrive in Tassie’s pristine, cool climate.
