Jane Faulkner

It is pristine, detailed and superfine yet has an understated power. Pink grapefruit, Meyer lemon, some pith and zest kick off the citrus theme; there’s a mouth-watering saline tang, too. The palate is beautifully composed – the right amount of oak influence, a millefeuille of nutty/creamy lees and superfine acidity leads everything to an impressive finish. - 96 Points.

Campbell Mattinson

The saline minerality with slightly chalky dust character is the first indication of the style. Lean and linear. Aromas are all about subtlety. Subtle butterscotch, grapefruit and meal with a little roasted nuttiness. The palate is so beautifully framed and focused, gathering itself through the middle to deliver to a long finish. - 96 Points.

Now this is a powerful chardonnay. Powerfully textured as well as powerfully flavoured. Peach, honeycomb, brine, vanilla and dried herb notes drive authoritatively throughout. It’s taut through the finish but in truth it feels taut throughout. The flavours are up and about so I wouldn’t leave this for a long time, but it does need another couple of years in bottle to really iron out. Then, it will be a gorgeous drink. There’s still plenty of linger to the flavours, despite its tightness. It’s top notch. - 95+ Points.

Taste Description

Taste Description

Nose

Lively aromas of lemon and lime sorbet create an invigorating citrus lift, layered with crushed limestone and sea spray that evoke the essence of coastal influence. Subtle hints of grilled grapefruit, cashews and toasty oak weave together, adding depth and warmth, while delicate undertones of white flowers and fresh herbs enhance complexity.

Flavours and Palate

White nectarine and grapefruit unfold with exceptional precision, offering an elegant and luxurious tasting experience. This is enhanced by succulent acidity that invigorates the palate, accompanied by a subtle hint of salinity reminiscent of the ocean's breeze. Silken creamy cashew introduces a decadent richness, complemented by carefully selected oak that imparts nuanced spice and a touch of flint. A pronounced mineral quality provides a refined, chalky texture that elevates the wine’s depth and sophistication.

Margaret River, Western Australia

Margaret River’s jarrah and marri forests give way to sun, surf, sand – and since the 1970s, some of the most powerful, yet elegant Cabernets and Chardonnays around. It’s also famed for sumptuous Semillon Sauvignon Blanc blends.

VINTAGE CONDITIONS

An average winter and spring provided enough rain to set the vines up for the growing season. A dry summer allowed for the production of exceptional fruit with optimum ripeness.
