With a unique combination of climate, geography and geology, Devil’s Lair celebrates wines of great clarity, delicacy of fruit and elegant structure.
Devils Lair 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon was harvested in April from our premium vineyards throughout the Margaret River region. Fermentation was completed in small static fermenters for 12-14 days. A wine of great style, concentration and flavour. It will mature gracefully over the next 15+ years.

It has all the regional flavours one could wish for – the sweet mulberries, cassis, the bay leaves, freshly rolled tobacco, choc-mint and nori. But wait, there’s more. It’s full bodied, rich and ripe, structured and detailed in equal measure with plentiful if firm tannins. This is going to last quite some distance but it offers a compelling argument to have a glass or two now, such is its vibrancy and appeal. - 95 Points.
Quite beautiful cabernet from this excellent year. IT’s generous and opulent with a tremendous intensity of dark fruits, led with blackcurrant black olive dominance, and then yielding to blue and red fruit characters. Has a slightly bay leaf nuance with a cracked sea shell minerality. It’s firm and bold with the structure and power to handle extended cellaring. - 95 Points.
I loved the 2021 release for its elegance; this release has a bit more meat on its bones. It’s firm and rich, with blackcurrant, soy, mint and honey notes running throughout, along with licorice, along with cedar. This wine has the structure, fruit, balance and overall composure to cellar beautifully. It’s bold but it’s complex and harmonious. - 94 Points.
Cassis, mulberry and blackberry primary fruit aromas with lifted violet notes and hints of dried bay leaf create a complex and intriguing nose.
Margaret River’s jarrah and marri forests give way to sun, surf, sand – and since the 1970s, some of the most powerful, yet elegant Cabernets and Chardonnays around. It’s also famed for sumptuous Semillon Sauvignon Blanc blends.
