The success of Penfolds has been driven by generations of visionaries and innovators. From the beginning in 1844 to today, the merging of science, art and innovation has driven Penfolds to become one of Australia’s most famed and respected winemakers.

Distinctive, with a consistently recognisable ‘House Style’, Penfolds showcases a collection of benchmark wines, established in a spirit of innovation and the constant and endless pursuit of quality.

The Australia Collection 2021

A family of fine wines, each with a distinct character, quality and provenance. The Penfolds Australia Collection is a testament to the enduring ‘House Style’ and winemaking philosophy that Penfolds winemakers have proudly upheld since 1844. The wines of The Australia Collection 2021 span the five impressive white and red wine vintages of 2017 to 2021, led by Penfolds Grange, which celebrates its 70th anniversary. With careful cellaring these wines will gradually develop and reward patience.

Penfolds Superblend

A limited release, made from parcels destined for our flagship wines. In the spirit of innovation and experimentation, we are thrilled to introduce two new wines to the Penfolds range – Superblend 802.A Cabernet Shiraz 2018 and Superblend 802.B Cabernet Shiraz 2018. Carefully selected from the coveted 2018 South Australian vintage, the wines represent two unique interpretations of the iconic Australian blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz.

Two siblings, differently assembled and raised in different environments. This powerful pair will be released sequentially and are designed to be collected.

Meet the Maker

“All winemakers should possess a good fertile imagination if they are to be successful in their craft.”
– Max Schubert, Penfolds’ first Chief Winemaker.

Peter Gago joined the winemaking team in 1989, and in 2002, became the fourth-ever Chief Winemaker for Penfolds. Together with his fellow winemakers, Peter’s careful custodianship has ensured that Grange and the other older members of the Penfolds family have continued to set the benchmark for their style and quality, while new additions to the range push the boundaries even wider.
