Bin 389 Cabernet Shiraz is one of the most beloved wines of the Penfolds collection. Affectionately nicknamed ‘Baby Grange’, in part because components of the wine are matured in the same barrels that held the previous vintage of Grange, Bin 389 presents a balanced wine that typifies the very top-class of this Australian blend.
The vintage 2019 release is instantly fresh and fleshy, with stewed plum and blackcurrant, and a background of dark chocolate and mocha. Its very impressive length leads a concentrated and ‘sweet’ core with the oak completely absorbed.
