Ah la dolce vita. There wouldn’t be many of us who haven’t dreamed of packing up and moving to a village under the Tuscan sun – or anywhere in Italy for that matter. But while many of us may never fulfil this reverie, the famed wines of regions such as Tuscany, Piedmont, Friuli and Campania can thankfully transport us through aroma and taste. First to try, a Sangiovese-led Chianti from the 12th century Castello di Gabbiano. Perfecto.
