The Drives celebrates the superb regionality of selected Victorian vineyards as well as the determination and vision of Seppelt's founder Joseph Ernst Seppelt, a pioneer and visionary winemaker from the Victorian era, who planted the first Seppelt vineyard in 1851.
Made predominantly from Shiraz grown in the Heathcote region of Central Victoria, this wine displays the classic regional characters of bright raspberry fruit and fine earthy tannins to form a very approachable and interesting Seppelt Shiraz.

The nose displays aromas of bright red fruits, violets and spice combined with berry compote and a hint of pepper.
The palate has juicy forest fruits and with spicy pepper combined with some savoury black olive tapanade. Finely structured tannins, fleshy texture and well integrated cedar oak add complexity.
Australia’s second smallest state is home to more regions and wineries than any other. A mix of cool and warm regions means variety is the spice of life in Victoria – from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in the Yarra Valley and Mornington Peninsula, to rich Shiraz from Heathcote and the Grampians and world famous fortified wines from Rutherglen, it’s a paradise for wine lovers.
Growing up on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula, Clare has had a long-held interest in the world of wine. Completing a Bachelor of Oenology from the University of Adelaide, Clare worked for many wineries and vineyards back in Mornington and overseas in Germany before joining Wolf Blass in 2007 as a vintage winemaker. Over the next 13 years, Clare has honed her skillset, crafting wines across varieties in both red and white wine production, while also participating in extensive wine judging. Most recently, Clare has been instrumental in crafting premium Chardonnay, a variety she greatly enjoys.
