The nose is like berry pie straight out of the oven filled with fresh raspberry and wild lavender perfectly complemented with notes of spiced coffee and luscious dark chocolate.
The palate is liquid heaven rich and fresh, bursting with juicy raspberry and cherry, framed by integrated savoury oak. Hints of licorice and clove are complemented by layers of delicate tannin, creating an opulent texture that flows to a smooth lingering finish.
Based in Marlborough, Spring grew up in Christchurch and studied photography and sociology at university before taking a shot at winemaking. To get there she worked her way up through hospitality, on to Lincoln University to study winemaking, into the cellar, then the wine lab before becoming a fully-fledged winemaker. Spring’s bubbly personality and creative background is reflected in Squealing Pig wines.
