Our Pierlot Brut Cuvée celebrates the determination and vision of Charles Pierlot, the Champenoise Winemaker who pioneered the production of the first méthode traditionelle sparkling wine in Australia in 1890 at our Great Western Winery. Charles Pierlot was instrumental in crafting Seppelt’s reputation as the home of sparkling wine in Australia.
Made from the traditional sparkling varieties of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier. The Pierlot Brut Cuvée is a reflection of the finesse and elegance of the cool climate Henty region in south western Victoria.
Meyer lemon and Granny smith apple compliment sweet, toasted brioche notes and a hint of minerality.
Delicate lemon curd, crisp green apple and freshly baked brioche notes lead into a creamy lees texture balanced by crisp driving acid. An elegant, refreshing wine with remarkable length.

Henty is one of the coolest wine regions of Australia but is protected by a maritime influence. Famed for being the home of cool climate viticulture and the iconic Drumborg vineyard, Henty is renowned for its Rieslings, Chardonnays and Sparklings.
Growing up on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula, Clare has had a long-held interest in the world of wine. Completing a Bachelor of Oenology from the University of Adelaide, Clare worked for many wineries and vineyards back in Mornington and overseas in Germany before joining Wolf Blass in 2007 as a vintage winemaker. Over the next 13 years, Clare has honed her skillset, crafting wines across varieties in both red and white wine production, while also participating in extensive wine judging. Most recently, Clare has been instrumental in crafting premium Chardonnay, a variety she greatly enjoys.
